How do I respond to a brand's invitation?

Written by Abid

When a brand invites you to collaborate, you'll get an email or DM with a link to your deal page. Opening that link is the first step — everything you need to respond is on that page.

Step 1: Open your invitation

Click the link from your email or DM. It will take you directly to your deal in the Creator Portal. You don't need to log in or create a password to view the offer — the link is unique to you.

If you close the tab and want to come back later, just open the link again, or request a one-time email code if prompted.

Step 2: Review the deal terms

Read through the offer carefully before deciding. The deal page lays out:

  • Compensation — cash, free product, a discount code, or a combination

  • Deliverables — how many posts, Reels, Stories, or videos, and on which platform

  • Deadlines — when drafts are due and when you need to publish

  • Usage rights — whether the brand can repost or run ads using your content, and for how long

  • Other requirements — talking points, hashtags, do's and don'ts

Take your time. There's no penalty for thinking it over.

Step 3: Choose your response

You have three options:

  • Accept — You agree to the terms as-is. The deliverables become trackable, and you'll move forward to the next step (often connecting your social account or drafting content).

  • Decline — You're not interested. You can leave a short note explaining why, which helps the brand send better offers in the future. The deal closes politely.

  • Counter — You'd like to adjust something. You can propose changes to price, deliverables, timeline, or usage rights. The brand sees your counter and can accept, reject, or counter back.

What happens after each choice

If you accept, the deal moves into its active phase. You'll see what's expected of you next — usually connecting your Instagram or TikTok, then uploading a draft.

If you decline, the brand is notified and the deal is marked closed. No hard feelings — declining politely keeps the door open for future invitations.

If you counter, your proposal goes back to the brand. They'll review and respond, often within a few days. You can keep negotiating through the Deal Thread until you both agree or decide to walk away.

A few tips

  • Respond promptly. Brands often have multiple creators in mind, and quick responses keep you top of the list.

  • Ask questions. If something in the terms is unclear, use the Deal Thread to ask before accepting.

  • Save the link. Keep your invitation email until the deal is complete in case you need to revisit anything.
