Once you've shortlisted creators, the next step is outreach. Scoop supports two channels: email and Instagram DM. You can use one or the other, and you can switch mid-conversation if needed.
All replies, regardless of channel, surface inside Scoop as in-app messages. You don't have to leave the platform to negotiate.
Email outreach
Email is the default channel and works for any creator, on any platform, who has a public-facing email.
When you click Reach out on a creator, Scoop drafts an email for you. The draft is composed using your brand voice (learned from your Brand Analysis step) and the creator's profile. So the message references the right context, for example a recent reel of theirs you liked, or a campaign theme that fits their content.
You can:
Edit the message before sending
Adjust tone (warmer, more formal, more direct)
Insert variables like the creator's first name or your project name
Save the message as a template for reuse
Emails are sent from your connected sending address, so they look like they came from your domain. Replies route into Scoop and appear in your inbox alongside the original outreach.
Instagram DM outreach
You can also reach out via Instagram DM, which often gets faster responses for smaller creators who don't check email regularly.
To send DMs, you need to:
Have a business or creator Instagram account
Connect it through Facebook OAuth in your Scoop settings
Make sure you're an admin on the linked Facebook page
Once connected, you'll see Instagram DM as a channel option whenever you send outreach. DMs are subject to Instagram's messaging policies, so Scoop respects rate limits to keep your account in good standing.
Replies to DMs surface in your Scoop inbox the same way email replies do. You don't have to flip between Instagram and Scoop to keep the conversation going.
Choosing between channels
A rough guide:
Situation | Suggested channel |
Creator has a public business email
Creator is under 30k followers and active on IG | Instagram DM |
Creator works with brands often and lists a manager | Email to the manager |
Sensitive deal negotiation or formal contract
Quick "are you interested?" pings | Instagram DM |
When in doubt, start with email and switch to DM only if you don't hear back.
Sending to one creator vs. in bulk
You can send outreach two ways:
One creator at a time. Open the profile drawer, click Reach out, review the draft, send. Good for high-priority creators where you want to fine-tune the message.
Bulk outreach. From the project shortlist, select multiple creators and click Send outreach. Scoop drafts a personalised message for each one, you can spot-check them, then send the batch in one go.
Bulk outreach is still personalised. Each draft is tailored to the specific creator's profile, so creators don't receive a copy-paste message.
Switching channels mid-conversation
If you started in email and the creator replies on Instagram, or vice versa, Scoop links the threads under the same creator so the conversation stays in one place. You can also manually switch channels from inside any thread β handy when you want to push a slow email negotiation onto DMs to wrap things up.
Following up
You can schedule follow-ups in advance. Set a delay (for example, three business days) and Scoop will send a follow-up if the creator hasn't responded. Follow-ups are also drafted with context, so they don't read like a generic bump.
